Hey, I’m Holly. I have a small family made up of one son and my husband whom I love and adore.
I’ve always had a soft spot for children, but after having one of my own my love for all children grew deeper. When I heard about yet another school shooting one day, I literally cried in my car on the way home. You could say I have an extremely open heart for little ones. Sadly, at this point there had been a few school shootings since I’d become a parent. But something about that day and that experience changed me and propelled me in a new direction.
I decided that I wanted to make a difference. I wasn’t interested in getting political and I wasn’t necessarily interested in dealing specifically with gun violence. What I did want was for my own community to be a good community. I wanted to reach out and help people near me, and through my local activities make the world a better place. It’s one thing to cry and its another to actually do something about what bothers you. I sill cry when I hear about children being terrorized or abused. The difference now is I know that at least I am doing a small part to make a difference.
